Attorney Biographies

Michael J. McCabe, Esq.

Attorney McCabe graduated magna cum laude from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, in 1977.  Thereafter, he attended the Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, gradutating in 1980.  Upon his graduation, Attorney McCabe was honored with the America Jurisprudence Award for Crimnal Procedure.  Following his graduation from law school, Attorney McCabe was admitted to practice law in Connecticut and before the Federal Bar later that year.

From the time of his admission to the bar in 1980 through 1998, Attorney McCabe practiced throughout the State of Connecticut, working for several firms including Kowal & Canner in Hartford.  In Norwalk, Attorney McCabe was an associate at the Law Offices of Vincent Flaherty, and then worked for a brief period of time as assistant corporation counsel for the City of Norwalk.  Next, he was an associate at DePanfilis & Valerie, where he became a partner in 1989. Thereafter, Attorney McCabe joined the firm of Slavitt, Connery & Vardamis for three years before openng his own private practice in 1998.   During his time in private practice, he also performed work for The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company from 2002 to 2005.

In June of 2014, Attorney McCabe merged his practice with that of Attorney  Erica A. Wikstrom, and formed McCabe & Wikstrom, LLC. Attorney McCabe currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Milford Bar Association, and has served as its' Law Day Chair for the past four years.  With respect to community involvement, Attorney McCabe has been the Treasurer for the Irish Heritage Society of Milford since 2006.
Erica A. Wikstrom, Esq.

Attorney Wikstrom attended Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, where she majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Ethics.  Upon graduation, she was awarded the honor of Valedictorian, graduating first in her class, as well as the James C. Farrington Award for Criminal Justice.  Attorney Wikstrom then attended American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., where she graduated in the top twenty percent of her class, and was awarded the Claire A. Cripe Award for Correctional Law.  Upon graduation, she returned to Connecticut and was admitted to the bar that fall. 

Attorney Wikstrom clerked for the Family Section of the Bridgeport Superior Court for six months after taking the bar examination.  Once admitted to the bar, she was hired as an Associate Attorney for the law firm of Portanova & Rutigliano, P.C.  Thereafter, in October of 2006, Attorney. Wikstrom opened her own practice, the Law Offices of Erica A. Wikstrom, where she practiced for almost eight years.

In June of 2014, Attorney Wikstrom merged her practice with that of Attorney Michael J. McCabe, and formed McCabe & Wikstrom, LLC. Attorney Wikstrom is currently the Vice President of the Milford Bar Association, and in the past has served as its Treasurer, the Chair of the Law Day Committee, and on the Board of Directors.  Attorney Wisktrom also volunteers as a Special Master for the Milford, New Haven and Bridgeport Superior Courts, as well as for the Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown, CT.
